Schladming-Dachstein also offers a relaxing vacation for dogs. Here you will find tips for your vacation with your four-legged friend in Schladming-Dachstein. Many exciting walks with enough "dog stations" are waiting for you.

Please use the dog bags and dispose them in the designated containers and note that a leash is obligatory in the entire region. 

Swimming lakes

Dogs on a leash are allowed on the resting area at the following bathing lakes, but not in the water!

 

But if your dog would like to get into the cool water, there are countless small streams in the region.

Ski tours with a dog

Piste tours in the Schladming-Dachstein region

The following must be observed on a piste ski tour with a dog:

  • The ascent and descent are at your own risk 
  • Dogs must be kept on a short lead and must not be allowed to run free, whether on the ascent or descent. 
  • Dog faeces must be collected and disposed of properly.

Lifts

Linen and muzzle obligation!

Summer: We ask you as a dog owner to keep/lead your dog on the mountain in such a way (leash obligation possibly muzzle, if necessary) that other guests also feel comfortable. On the mountain there are especially families with children on the way, please be considerate of them. Your dog can also be transported with the chairlift! Important note: The use of the "Gipfelbad anno dazumal" as well as the Hochseesitz is not allowed for dogs!

The ticket for the dog costs € 5,00.

Winter: no dogs allowed!

The ticket for the dog costs € 7,00.

Please note, that there are no dogs allowed on ski slopes and cross-country tracks. A leash is required by law in the federal state of Styria.

Bus driving with dog

Planai Bus: 
Dogs must be kept on a leash and muzzled on all Planai buses! A muzzle can be purchased on the bus for€ 8.00 can be purchased on the bus.
Small dogs that can sit on the passenger's lap are transported free of charge. For larger dogs, the fare of the dog is calculated from 50% of the normal fare. Assistance and guide dogs travel free of charge.

Ramsau public transport services: 
Leash and muzzle compulsory in all buses. A muzzle can be purchased on the bus for € 8.00. Dogs half fare - small animals free of charge.

Entry requirements with a dog in Austria

  • an EU pet passport and a microchip tag
  • a valid rabies vaccination (at least 21 days old)
  • Puppies under 12 weeks old or puppies between 12 and 16 weeks old who have received a rabies vaccination but have not yet met the required 21 days to achieve vaccination protection: In addition to the pet passport and microchip, you need the declaration of a veterinarian approved by the authorities , in which it is confirmed that the young animal was previously only kept at its place of birth (rabies clearance confirmation).
  • Entry is also permitted if the animal is accompanied by its mother, on whom it is still dependent (and who meets all entry requirements). Please always note the general entry requirements for dogs within Europe or EU countries
