The tour
Short, family-friendly hike through shady high forest to the impressive Lessern waterfall.
From the parking lot in Lessern, a well-marked, approximately 20-minute trail leads along a stream and over wooden footbridges through impressive natural surroundings. The partly rocky path requires surefootedness. At the end, you will find a waterfall up to 80 meters high—a peaceful, natural place to linger.

Turn-by-turn directions
Your walk begins at the parking lot in the Lessern district of the municipality of Stainach-Pürgg, heading toward a hidden natural gem. Right at the start, you will pass the small fire station and soon leave the paved road, walking under a bridge and following the signs into the shady high forest.

The well-marked trail follows a small stream and winds its way across several wooden footbridges, past impressive scenery. Despite the short walking time of about 20 minutes, you should wear sturdy shoes, as the path is partly rocky and requires sure-footedness.
The closer you get to your destination, the more impressive the surroundings become: on a secure path that winds its way along the slope, you cross small bridges and finally reach the wildly romantic Lessern waterfall – depending on the season, the water here plunges down from a height of up to 80 meters. An ideal place to pause and let the power of nature work its magic on you.

The tour is ideal as a leisurely afternoon walk for the whole family – quiet, shady, and close to nature.
