We are delighted to welcome the Austrian Länderbühne theater company to the CCW for the first time! Youth Without God is the third novel by Austro-Hungarian author Ödön von Horváth. It was published in 1937 and translated into eight other languages shortly thereafter, in early 1938. In it, Horváth describes life in a small town and the beginning of repression and militarization of life at the start of the Nazi era. The book was praised by fellow writers and critics immediately after its publication and is still part of the curriculum in German-speaking schools in the 21st century.
